How I Set Up My Fujifilm Cameras

How I set up my Fujifilm Cameras and Why

This is how I set up my X-T1 and X-T10 cameras

Back button Focus
From Menu 1: AutoFocus Setting : Instant AF Setting : AF- C
From Menu 4: AE / AF – Lock Mode : AE&AF On / Off Switch [S]
(Won’t work with face detection on)

Why:

1) On MCS dial: S mode, I can lock it with the AF-L backbutton, or press it again to unlock it and use the shutter button as normal half press lock focus.
2) On C mode, I can lock it with the AF-L backbutton, or press it again to unlock it and use the shutter button as half press continuous focus button. This can be handy: focus and lock it using the AF-L button OR have it continuous focus by using the shutter release button halfway.
3) On M mode, when I press and let go, the AF-L button it focuses and stops once focused, but if I hold down the AF-L button it will focus continuously and only stops focusing when I let up on the button. When I press the shutter button, the only thing it can do is take the shot. I don’t use this often as the camera seems to want to refocus after every shot and is slower. I can of course also manually focus with my left hand on the lens.

I shoot in RAW + Fine

I shoot with EVF only on all the time. It doesn’t turn off when I pull my eye away. It is the setting, as you toggle through them, right after “Eye Sensor”

AF MODE: Single Point: Center

I hope that helps. Those are the settings that work for me and my style of shooting.
