Flickr Photo Sharing

3-75

@pinterestI LOVE Flickr. I don’t work for Flickr. I don’t make any money by recommending Flickr, but I’ve gotta tell you that if you enjoy taking pictures and sharing them with others, Flickr is tough to beat. If I’m not careful, I can spend WAY too much time exploring and looking at the amazing photos that people are sharing from all around the world. There are many good photo sharing sites out there, but here are a few reasons that I prefer Flickr.

Flickr is an online photo storage and sharing website. They also make some great apps for iOS and Android. On Flickr, everyone gets 1000GB of storage for FREE, enough space for more than 500,000 photos. Their search technology means you can find them anytime you want. No matter where you are, you can automatically sync your phone’s photos to Flickr.

You can create sets of pictures or albums. You can then share these album with others. For example if you had an album of black and white pictures, or an album of puppies, or an album of macro photography, you could share these albums with other people so they can see them. As you add more pictures to an album, other people will be able to see the new additions. You can also send a link to a single photo if you’d like to only share one photo at a time.

To get you up and Flickring as quickly as possible, I created a set of videos. Check out the videos, sign up for your free Flickr account, upload and share your photos!

Send me your links, or post them in your comments below this article and let’s start sharing photos.

This was an awesome topic. I often wondered what flikr was, and why I would want to use, and now I know. In the article you say you can store up to 500,000 photos. Is this a good way to back up your photos?

Phil, yup Flickr’s a great photo resource. It might be a good place to backup your “must not lose” copies of your photos. Just realize that unless you designate them private, that your photos may be public for others to see. Good idea!
